Dubai to Tibet via Kathmandu or New Delhi
Taking flights from Dubai to Kathmandu or New Delhi then to Tibet is one of the popular ways for travelers as the flight duration is relatively short. Flights usually take 7 or more hours in total and have two layovers at DEL Airport in and KTM Airport in Kathmandu. The price is relatively expensive, takes about 1000 ~ 1200 USD. You are recommended to take a direct flight to KTM airport, which only needs 4.3 hours then fly to Lhasa. But the price is more expensive, about 1200 USD in total. Please note, you have to stay in Kathmandu for at least three days for your Chinese group visa application. So the actual time of flying to Kathmandu/Delhi takes much longer than flying to mainland China then to Lhasa, Tibet.

Documents Required When Traveling from Dubai to Tibet
Currently, the only international flights to Lhasa, Tibet are from Kathmandu. If you prefer to enter Tibet from Kathmandu, you need to first book with a Tibet travel agency at least 10 workdays in advance for your Tibet Travel Permit. And when you arrive in Kathmandu, you need to stay at least 3 working days there to get your China Group Visa from the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu. Only if you have these two permits can you enter Tibet from Nepal.
Alternatively, you can fly to mainland China first, then take domestic flights or trains to Tibet. You still need your Tibet Travel Permit with the help of a Tibet Travel Agency. And you also obtain your China Visa in your home country.
